Fergie Says She Quit Drugs After Talking To God

Fergie says that she stopped using drugs after going to church one day. The Black Eyed Peas singer says that she went to church and heard God telling her to stop using drugs.

During the time leading up to her end with crystal meth and drug abuse, Fergie was paranoid that the FBI and SWAT team were out to get her.

''I started getting really paranoid. So I went one day into this church and I thought that the FBI and the SWAT teams were outside the church ... so I had a conversation with God ... and I said, 'Alright, if I go out there and the FBI and the SWAT team's not out there, then it's the drugs and I'm stopping," the singer told Oprah in an interview for the television show Oprah's Next Chapter. ''At first, with any drug, it's great in the beginning, then slowly your life starts to spiral down. [I was] 90 pounds at one point.''

Fergie had been using drugs since she was a teenager. She started with Ecstasy before moving on to crystal meth. Meth is a hard drug and very difficult to overcome once someone is addicted to it and has an extremely high relapse rate. Crystal meth is also a very dangerous drugs that can cause hallucinations and rapid aging among other things. Fergie is looking good and sober now but hopefully she doesn't have a huge relapse.
